FIRST MATE & HOSTESS - 28M S/Y

PMR Recruitment are searching for a First Mate and Hostess for a 28m sailing yacht. The vessel operates with a crew of three and runs a private, owner-use program.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-run yacht with a dual-season itinerary, spending summers in Greece and winters in the Caribbean. The role is permanent, offering 30 days leave, with salary in line with industry standards.

We are seeking candidates with strong sailing backgrounds. The First Mate must hold a valid RYA Yachtmaster Offshore, and the Hostess should hold at least an RYA Day Skipper or equivalent. Proven experience on sailing yachts over 75ft is essential for both positions.

The Hostess role will involve a mix of interior duties and light cooking. This is not a chef position, but candidates must be confident preparing good-quality, home-style meals including breakfasts, lunches, and evening dishes such as salads, pastas, and fish. The role also includes provisioning, housekeeping, and assisting on deck when required, so a competent level of sailing ability is important.

The First Mate will support the skipper in all deck operations and overall running of the vessel, so a strong, hands-on sailing background is key.

The yacht typically has between 2–5 guests onboard, ensuring a manageable workload and a good onboard dynamic. The program is private, with no charter.

This position is open to both couples and individual applicants. There are separate cabins available; however, there may be occasions where the First Mate is required to share with the skipper due to guest numbers.

The yacht has a positive and stable setup, with a permanent skipper already onboard, and is looking to bring in the right team following the departure of the previous crew.

Non-smokers are preferred, but not essential. There are no restrictions on tattoos.
