Bosun – 50m Private Sailing Yacht | Single Season | Private | Light Usage

PMR Recruitment is seeking an experienced Bosun to join a 50m private sailing yacht based in Palma de Mallorca. The yacht has recently completed a large refit and has now stepped the rig. The next phase will involve extensive sailing trials and system checks, making this an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys being under sail and wants to be hands-on during this important period.

This is a single-season, private vessel with light guest usage. The program will suit someone who enjoys working on a larger yacht but appreciates a more measured, non-charter pace.

The vessel runs with 9 crew, and the Bosun plays a key leadership role onboard, working closely with the First Mate to ensure the smooth running of all deck operations.

The Role

- Leading day-to-day deck operations

- Active involvement in post-refit sailing trials

- Strong participation in sail handling and deck maintenance

- Supporting and guiding junior deck crew

- Maintaining high presentation and operational standards

Requirements

- Yachtmaster Offshore (minimum)

- Strong experience on large sailing yachts

- Solid understanding of rigging and sailing systems

- Confident leader with a proactive, hands-on approach

- Happy working on a larger yacht with a private, light-use program

The crew dynamic is young, ambitious, and professional. The program encourages longevity and development, with course incentives available after two years of service.
